Going Primitive, Respect
Theres just something...special, about being in the woods with a wooden bow or flintlock in hand. theres something special about "sharing" the woods with the game you hunt or trap. The animals i kill are not just something to say i got or show off. They are brothers of the woods, things i enjoy seeing, even if i dont get lucky enough to kill them. I'm not like most people i know, hunt to kill a trophy or hunt to get the biggest buck. when i hunt i am using all the respect i have for the game, and when i make a kill i show respect to the maker of the game. As i track game or see sign i love to imagine that big buck making those tracks or a big coyote waiting right around the bend for me to harvest. but, as said these animals i kill for meat, food, sinew and hide. Also, i hunt because its just in my blood. my father is a big hunter and his respect is passed down to me. my dad even started saying "big medicine" or "the great spirit" such as i do. But, my main point which i probably am not smart enough to get too...lol...is that all animals big or small deserve respect and should be honored in the way the people of old did, they deserve a lot and are being killed to be utilized. hope i dont get in trouble for saying this.... a/ho
